Runners are encouraged to promote prostate cancer fundraising in support of the American Cancer Society. Donations support local prostate cancer programming, educational outreach and research. Remember that raising three times your registration fee in donations earns a full refund of that fee.
Runners: Create Your Fundraising Campaign
Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer in America, affecting 1 in 6 men. Did you know that a man is 33% more likely to get prostate cancer than a woman is to get breast cancer? And that 35% of these men will be under the age of 65? Or that a husband, male relative or friend dies every 17 minutes from prostate cancer?
Beginning your fundraising campaign is easy. As a registered runner, you already have a fundraising "account" set-up in your name. When people donate online, ask them to look up your name in the "Optional Fundraiser Search" box at the top of the page, then simply donate. You will be credited automatically.
Some fundraisers prefer to raise money under a pseudonym or team name with others. You have the option of doing so. Create a new fundraising account under a different name by clicking on the link below and following the prompts. (You will be propted to set-up a "RaceIt!" account in order to access the system, then create your new fundraising account.) Once established, be sure to tell your donors to select this new name and not your own from the list in the "Optional Fundraiser Search" box. Note: when registering for the race, you will be given the option to donate personally at that time. Doing so will create a "no strings attached" donation--i.e., you will not be credited as a fundraiser with that donation. If you wish to donate AND receive credit for it, go to the "Make a Donation" page and donate there.
