Every race event needs volunteers, and the PALM100 is no exception! These are a few of the areas where your help would be greatly appreciated:
NEW Team Requirement for 2010:
Each team with one or more team members residing within 50 miles of any point along the PALM100 course, must provide one or more volunteers to work a combined minimum of eight hours on race weekend. Tasks will be assigned by the Race Director. Volunteers will be identified by each Team Captain, be at least 16 years of age and provide their own transportation to and from assigned locations.
Race publicity:
• Distribute race brochures and posters to appropriate businesses and at appropriate area races.
• Contact people in the media to raise awareness of this unique event; request support.
• Social networking and search optimization.
Race weekend:
• Logistics support
• Pre-race packet pick-up and meeting preparation, Friday March 26, 2010 in Fort Lauderdale
• Race start: checking-in runners and teams at the starting line.
• Check-in station in Delray Beach or West Palm Beach
• Finish line welcome: race timing and reporting, welcome runners, draping finisher medals, etc
• Medical team support
• Course marshall and signage management
• Photography and video
Post Race:
• Social and entertainment - Awards party on Saturday night
• Assist with awards and giveaway items
• Break down finish line; return of borrowed or rented gear and equipment
Race Sponsors:
• Solicit potential race sponsors, promoting our race and cause
Fundraising:
• Promote charitable giving to fight prostate cancer
Waiver:
All volunteers, crew members and race staff must complete and sign the Volunteer Waiver form. This may be done ONLINE or manually.
